Between my two sons and one daughter, I have had the pleasure of being part of the Steeple community for more than eight years (we've probably had 6-7 teachers during that time, all of whom were superb). During this last year, each morning my child and I were always greeted with such kindness by the director and teachers - it is a wonderful way to start our day, and a gift I will always remember. My children learned how to socialize with other children, how to share, cooperate, and work with others. They learned how to be flexible, but also how to speak up for themselves. As a working mother, I have been so appreciative of the extended early morning, "lunch bunch", and afternoon hours offered. My older two children are thriving in their elementary schools, and I know my youngest is more than prepared for starting a new school. I am beyond grateful for the absolutely wonderful experience my children enjoyed at Steeple. (Almost forgot - the playground and outdoor spaces are AMAZING!!!)
Heather W.Jun 6, 2024Don't send your sons here. This school prefers girls and mislabels active boys as delayed and then sends them away to the public school "to better meet their needs". Some of the teachers are great but the director is sadly very unprofessional and she is following in the footsteps of her predecessor who was known to kick out boys who were being typical 3 and 4 year olds. The director is unaware of what is developmentally normal for children of this age group and this type of behavior from a preschool director can have a profoundly negative impact on a child. Numerous MPS early childhood Ed Sped Dept teachers whom assess these “disabled” boys, shared with me that they do not recommend boys be sent to this school. Shame on you Steeple School and its board of directors for keeping a director whom the MPS early childhood ed. Dept and I caught being dishonest and sneaky. Hopefully one day the director will step down and the school will hire a masters prepared early childhood Ed. Educator with a licensed prepared knowledge about preschool aged children. Until then you are better off sending your sons to Pudding Hill, Marshfield Public or South Shore Natural Science Center.
Courtney W. DeFuscoMar 13, 2024Based on my personal experience I cannot recommend this preschool. I sent two children here and found the staff in general to be wonderful, but on the very last day of my second child’s time at this school the director was so profoundly and needlessly unkind to me- at a time where I was struggling- I will now always look back upon my children’s years there and primarily remember her hurtful words.
Alyssa RobinsonFeb 3, 2023All 3 of my children went here. A safe and nurturing environment. I was very sad when they moved to elementary school.
