Village Nursery School has been an absolute blessing for our family. Teachers Betsy and Helen are exceptionally patient and creative, providing much-needed guidance for our son as he is building his social and emotional regulation skills. As we prepare for kindergarten, they have gone completely above and beyond—promptly filling out paperwork, attending meetings, and offering unwavering support. The quality of the crafts and scheduled programming is astounding. Betsy, a former art teacher, brings a clear love of her craft to the classroom; our son once told my wife and me that 'the art projects at school are better' than ours at home! Beyond fantastic 'far-away fun days' exploring global cultures, the school brings in exceptional enrichment like 317 Main music lessons and workshops from the Chewonki Foundation. I honestly feel my son gets more high-quality, structured programming in his 3-hour day at VNS than most schools offer in a full 6+ hour day. Beyond the classroom, the co-op fosters a truly uplifting parent community that embraces every child's unique strengths. I cannot recommend VNS highly enough to any parent looking for a deeply enriching and compassionate environment.
Stephen MorseApr 26, 2026Village Nursery School is an amazing preschool experience for families who do not need a daycare model at this young 3-5yo age. Our three children attended and received a gentle introduction to group dynamics, friendship, listening to a teacher, and the basis for their academic education down the road while at VNS. As parents we joined a community of families involved in the day to day details of their child's experience, and learned about our kids learning styles and support needed to help them to be successful. We were so glad to have found VNS, the teachers and this joyful play based co-op preschool experience for our kids, and continue to highly recommend it to others.
Sophie HerrMar 9, 2026I love this school! The teachers are amazing and so good at what they do. I love that my kids get to spend time outside and have a chance to play and learn to be a friend. The projects they do are so creative and they even get music lessons! I couldn’t recommend this program more for part time preschool!
