if I could give this place negative stars i would! The judgement, the accusations, the lack of communication is sick! Christian’s??? It this is christianity I want NO PARTS in that. Can’t even have a conversation with Jodie or tell her anything - otherwise you’re combative and they have to see if being here is a good fit for you. If you don’t open up to them or share anything with them, they make you leave because you’re not cooperating. The structure and rules were never and issue but If you breathe wrong in there - you’re out! If you dont worship the ground they or Jesus walk on - you’re not good enough to be there. This place just needs to be ran by different people! the idea of what they’re trying to do could be very beneficial to women and kids in need, but needs to be ran by people who can actually empathize with you and help. Not people who just think they can run the show and call it a day! The women and children who come through here put their lives in yall hands, and entrust that they will be secure. Yes some people who come thru don’t want help or are just passing thru, but them the people who need to be kicked out NOT people who are trying to actually escape survival and homelessness. Worst place ever. I’d rather be on the streets. Wouldn’t even recommend it to homeless animals on the street. I got assaulted by another woman who stayed there and at first i didn’t fight back because i wouldn’t got kicked out for fighting. but then i started fighting back in self defense , they told me i was banned from there and not allowed back. they blocked my number and everything. Didn’t ask what happened? If i’m ok? Just boom , you’re done. I lost my job bc of it, my housing assistance, everything fell apart. All the hard work I put in - for nothing. Some christian’s ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Grace VandermolenMay 1, 2026After contacting these people the first time during horrible winter storms with an 8 year old and nowhere to go, not only did nobody answer but they did not even bother to respond at all. After calling again days later I explained to them that being a caretaker for my mother had not panned out and I had nowhere to go and had used all myvsavings to move here and was living on credit cards with no income. I had stated my daughter was enrolled in school here in Ottawa County full time and we had been here for months and they stated they cannot help us because they "do not help people relocate". Knowing we are already settled in and moved here dyring a horrid winter even for Michigan(I am a Michigan native). These are heartless, horrid people. Upon talking to the Muskegon shelter they seemed absolutely baffled they would give the excuse they do not help ppl relocate when we have been here and my daughter has been in school. These people are monsters abusing their positions!
SaraJan 15, 2026I was a victim of domestic violence and I left him I was living with his mother in Wisconsin got put out for pressing charges on him she knew the home time came to this shelter with 6 kids got into a room when I got in the room it was a nasty lady she smelled like cigarettes and idk what else hole point is that my clothes got stolen and some of my kids clothes as well they store a hole Nintendo switch talking about god these people are a fraud made use leave after 3days no car no clothes nothing
Sandra MitchellAug 10, 2025Things started out great and they offer a lot to people who are homeless at no cost for a time, but right now I have sciatica and am barely able to walk, but can get around. They kicked me out because of it. How can they call themselves Christians?
Denise ParksJul 6, 2025Was treated with total judgment and rudeness. Reached out for help for over 3 months straight. They refused my children, and I sheltered in person. My children were taken and placed back in our abusers custody. The female manager/ director told me, "You didn't ask me permission to move your children to Holland for safety." Sorry, but I don't need her or anyone's permission to take my children to safety. Because of her decision, my children are in more danger now than ever before.
