WESTPORT MONTESSORI

My husband and I toured this day care last week- this is a day care and not a true Montessori school. The one year olds were confined to a small space ( about 10' by 12') and the caregiver for this classroom was slumped over looking rather hungover/disassociated barely watching the kids. The 5 children in the small area was blocked off by a gate to much larger louder area with more children. There were no rugs or textiles, just a cold tile floor and a few toys. When we arrived, we were asked what we wanted to see on the "tour" (we do not know, please tell us/show us) instead of just guiding us around the school giving details of their programs, processes, curriculum, play, students, etc. The "tour" lasted about 3 minutes and then I asked a few questions and we left. This space was so overstimulating (florescent lights, fans, colors, noises, smells, etc), we had to yell to be heard, and there were toys and supplies all over the building and the play rooms. This might be a fine daycare for some families, but I would not have wasted my time filling out 3 hours worth of forms to submit for my child had I seen this facility before hand. I submitted the paperwork and never heard a reply back (no confirmation of receipt or enrollment, no welcome packet, etc). Additionally, I called 6 times and left a message very time, and never received a return call. My husband finally got through to the director and she stated they had "attempted to reach me" although they had not. If you are looking for a daycare, this might be for you, but please do not be misled, nothing about this is Montessori.

This Montessori school is amazing! The environment is warm, welcoming, and truly focused on each child’s growth and independence. You can tell the staff really care, and it shows in everything they do.

We have our one 3 year old daughter enrolled at Westport Montessori and she has been there since she was 10 months old. We absolutely love this place and feel so lucky to have her attending. The teachers are loving, supportive, and use true Montessori practices. The director, Ms. Christina, is overly dedicated to ensuring the kids feel loved and cared for as if they were her own. 10/10, would recommend!

Both of our kids spent their entire pre-Kindergarten time at Westport Montessori and have thrived. They looked/look forward to coming every day and are always welcomed with open arms. Mrs. Christina and all of the teachers are wonderful, caring and make drop-off easy. The recent enhancements to the building and educational program are reflected in our kids’ experiences and growth. We’re thankful for the support and dedication of the entire Westport Montessori team!

Westport Montessori has been a wonderful place for my daughter. The personalized attention paid to her is second to none - every staff member knows her, not just her teachers. She is welcomed with open arms every day and it is essential as a parent to know that I am sending her somewhere where she is loved. The skills she shows at home are 100% a result of the practical application she gets at school. Highly recommend.
