  • If you love your children you will not take them to this place. Margaret Smalley the owner/director does not have the childrens best interest at heart and in truth the fact her and her staff haven't been investigated by now is beyond me. It smells like mold inside of the building and my daughter said there is black stuff inside of the bathroom on the walls.

  • Both of my kids have attended ABC School House since the time that they were infants. The staff here really provide excellent care and really treat the children like they are their own. The kids always look forward to going to school as they learn so many new things every day. They are always wiling to work around my schedule and Mrs. Smalley is such a lovely and caring person. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • My kids go there and they r absolutely amazing with my children .my daughter is autistic and they r wonderful with her .I have nothing bad to say about them .they r hands on with the kids and anytime my children have suddenly ran a fever or gotten a bump at playtime they call me to inform me

  • My son has been going to this daycare/schoolhouse since he was 4 months old. He is turning 2 years old next month and we have not had any issues with any of the caregivers. The management is also hands-on with the children and take the time to talk to parents. There were instances when we needed to leave special instructions, either for food, medicine, etc, and they have always complied. They have called us when our son suddenly ran a fever. I have peace of mind knowing that I am involved and informed with how my son is doing within the day even if I am not with him.

Questions parents ask about ABC SCHOOL HOUSE

Is ABC SCHOOL HOUSE a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. ABC SCHOOL HOUSE holds Pennsylvania certificate 100141208-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Fayette County. The current certificate runs to August 28, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is ABC SCHOOL HOUSE's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates ABC SCHOOL HOUSE STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 18, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against ABC SCHOOL HOUSE?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against ABC SCHOOL HOUSE at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does ABC SCHOOL HOUSE accept child care subsidy?

Yes. ABC SCHOOL HOUSE holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 4.

Does this page show inspection results for ABC SCHOOL HOUSE?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects ABC SCHOOL HOUSE's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
