  • We were so incredibly lucky to have found Friends for our son. He started here at 5 months when we were very new parents. Charelle, Egypt, Shardae and all the teachers not only made him welcome from day 1 - but they also gave us a kind education on parenthood. Over the next 8 months we got to watch him grow and flourish, surrounded by such loving staff and a warm, positive atmosphere. He brought home new skills constantly, gained countless new experiences, and he made best friends in that classroom. We've since had to move away from the Philly area, and we have not been able to replicate the loving, thoughtful teaching and care of Friends. This is a special place and we miss these lovely people! We can't recommend it enough.

  • This is the best daycare! Dropping your child off for the first time can be really difficult, but Friends made it so easy for us. From day one, Charelle and her team swooped in with all the love our son could want, and all the comfort we needed. We were enrolled in this school for less than a year, and it wasn't enough! The only reason we left was for a move to a new home, otherwise we would have stayed forever. My husband always likes to say this school has a soul, and I couldn't agree more. There's a perfect balance of professionalism and warmth here that's hard to find (in fact, we're struggling to find it elsewhere!). They've made such a lasting impression on us — we'll always consider them friends.

  • We have had our son enrolled here for a year and a half and are very happy with the quality of care and learning. The most important thing to ask when researching daycares is how often their staff turns over. You want stability for your child and to know that the people caring for them are compensated well to keep doing their jobs well. FCCC has had staff stick around for many many years and it shows. They are a cohesive team and I'm so glad we found them. They have outdoor space to play and a very secure campus. Only downside is no meals are provided but I also get more control over what my child eats. Would highly recommend.

Questions parents ask about FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER

Is FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 100127675-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Philadelphia County. The current certificate runs to October 14, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER STAR 4, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 1, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER accept child care subsidy?

Yes. FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 18.

Does this page show inspection results for FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects FRIENDS CHILD CARE CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
