  • This place is a neighborhood jewel. My daughter is now 5 and has been going here since age 2, when we moved to the city. She has great relationships with her teachers and peers. The kids do all sorts of engaging activities, arts, and crafts, and the older preschoolers often go on walks in the neighborhood and visit the local playground. The teachers also do a great job getting the kids academically prepared for elementary school - my daughter can read and do simple arithmetic like adding and subtracting single digit numbers. We'll be sad to leave for kindergarten in the fall, but I will always be grateful to all the teachers here for setting my child up for success and giving her an extremely positive attitude towards school!

  • Our son has gone here since he was 6 months old (now 3). We have had a great experience in each of the classrooms. The teachers really care for the kids like family but also teach them a lot. They do a lot of art projects and have a different focus of learning each week. We have been very happy here!

  • We sent our first daughter here before we moved away. Our daughter thrived in the infant room with Ms Barb and Ms Alexis. The activities they did with her were wonderful. The artwork is absolutely adorable. The book Ms Barb put together just absolutely melted my heart. I truly felt that my daughter was loved here. HIGHLY recommend!

  • My daughter has been going to Rainbow Academy for almost 3 years. The teachers there are amazing, after a few months she not only knew how to tie her shoes, she knew the Alphabet, could count to 20 without stopping & her mannerisms increased dramatically. All the staff there is hands on with the kids, Andera, Ms.Steph, Miss.Niki & Ms.B just to name a few is my daughters favorite teachers.

  • Do not send your children to this school!! The level of unprofessionalism within the staff is unlike anything I’ve ever seen and the the administration does nothing to deny or stop the problems. Turnover at this school is very high. There are also no actual teachers there other than the administrator and possibly her mother who helps her, if you’re looking for a higher level of education. It seems like there are new faces every month! They are always short staffed and staff complains they are underpaid without benefits so they are always shuffling children into different classrooms in order to meet required ratios. One of the preschool teachers asked me to borrow $50 once. I told her no and she asked me to talk to my other half about it. The preschool classroom “teachers” are the WORST right now, and my child won’t be returning. The “teachers” in the preschool class scream at the children aggressively, grab them by their shirt collars, and intimidate them into good behavior. They are also not intelligent enough to hold a conversation without yelling at adults about issues as they arise and they most certainly will if your child is in this class. They also make major decisions regarding your child without calling you. I have filed multiple complaints with multiple organizations about this school. I will say it’s really gone downhill over the last 7-8 months that I’ve witnessed. I only wish I knew who I was dealing with sooner.

  • We are very happy at this center especially because of the staff. My son loves all of them. We can see that he has a lot of fun everyday. His development is great. Each day they have different activities, a lot of art paper. They have cameras to see who is coming in. They really make things easy to parents. All staff is very friendly and happy. They run the business the way I think a daycare should be, like a family (and not like an army). I definetely recommend this daycare.

Questions parents ask about RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY

Is RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY holds Pennsylvania certificate 100141226-0003, listed as "SANCTIONED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Allegheny County. The current certificate runs to December 1, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania publishes no Keystone STARS tier for RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY. Keystone STARS is voluntary, so a provider with no tier has not taken part rather than been judged. Licensing and STARS are separate: a provider without a tier is still certified and still inspected.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY?

The state's provider dataset records a negative sanction against RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY. That flag is all Pennsylvania publishes in this dataset: it does not say what the sanction was, when it happened, or how serious it was, and a sanction can range from a paperwork lapse to a serious finding. Look the provider up at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch and read the licensing record before drawing a conclusion from this line.

Does this page show inspection results for RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects RAINBOWS END CHILD ACADEMY's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
