Between my partner and I, we've raised seven children, now in their late twenties and thirties. We're also the permanent guardians of four-year-old twins. After thirty-plus years of parenting, we know what good childcare looks like, and what it doesn't. Before Stepping Stones, we tried two other daycare/preschool options in the Cranberry area. Both were genuinely bad in ways that experienced parents recognize immediately: inconsistent staffing, poor judgment, and the kind of environment that makes you uneasy at drop-off. From our first visit to Stepping Stones, the difference was immediate and obvious. They run this as a real business. The facility, both indoors and the GREAT outdoor play space is excellent. Staffing is consistent and properly vetted, and the teachers have years of experience under their belts. Just as importantly, they've clearly seen the full range of modern family situations; foster placements, single-parent households, blended families, guardianships and they handle all of it with the same steady grace. No awkwardness, no extra questions, just good care for the kids in front of them. What stands out most is the basics done right: predictability, accountability, professionalism, and sincere warmth with the kids. You can see it in how our twins interact with their teachers- comfortable, engaged, and happy to be there. If you're looking for preschools in the area, go visit. A 100% upgrade over anywhere else we tried in a 20 mile radius.
Jim SheilsMay 15, 2026As a parent who was never enrolled in daycare myself, I was incredibly anxious about finding the right environment for my daughter. After visiting several facilities that felt either too rigid, too disorganized, or unfriendly, walking into Stepping Stones was a breath of fresh air. From the start, every single staff member made us feel welcomed. The facility itself is fantastic—large classrooms, an expansive outdoor area, and a dedicated indoor gym that ensures the kids get to move even when the weather is bad. One of the most telling signs for me was noticing that the majority of the staff choose to enroll their own children here; that spoke volumes. The Director, Lauren Z., is remarkably kind and supportive. It’s clear that the teachers truly know and care for every student, treating the children as if they were their own. My daughter is constantly engaged in great activities, and for the first time, I feel completely at ease while she’s in someone else's care. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!
Deanna EasleyMay 14, 2026My son absolutely loved Stepping Stones! This program has been a fantastic extension to our school’s half-day kindergarten program. The best part is that it’s located right inside the school, so there’s no travel time or transition stress — he simply moves from his kindergarten classroom straight into Stepping Stones. The teachers are wonderful and do an excellent job blending playful learning with continued education. They’ve created the perfect mix of fun and structure that keeps my kindergartener engaged and thriving every day. We’re so grateful for this program!
Jena PiscitelliMar 25, 2026The indoor and outdoor recess areas are the best! They have fun learning and art activities for the kids every day. The teachers are respectful towards the kids and have a great understanding of child development:)
Raeanne RiberichMar 23, 2025Stepping stones was my preschool and I loved it. 10 years ago I went there and I have so many great memories. I made friends that I am still friends with. I have so much nostalgia to everything we did there. All the teachers were so nice.
Happy PersonJul 27, 2022All around fantastic center! The director is very kind and the staff are amazing! They do all the things I wish I could do with my child but am unable to because of work. Very well rounded and top notch!!
