  • This daycare is absolutely wonderful! They take excellent care of the kids and are very thorough when it comes to dietary restrictions like allergies which gives us a piece of mind. The long staff retention speaks volumes, it’s clearly a great place for both teachers and children. Highly recommend.

  • Green Byrne is an amazing place for our son to learn, play, and develop. He has so much fun every day and has even taught us things he’s learned at school. The meal program is a huge help to us as far as taking a load off when it comes to meal planning and grocery shopping. They are also extremely diligent when it comes to our son’s food allergies. We are so glad to be a part of the Green Byrne community!

  • Our son attends Green Byrne and we love it. The staff are incredibly kind and friendly, the center makes delicious and healthy meals for the kids and sends us photos and videos throughout the day of our son playing music and making art and generally having a great time, and all of the kids seem very safe and loved. The teachers communicate constantly, are very cautious, and take very good care of our son. There's a real community there. We're grateful to have found such a great place!

  • Our daughter has attended Green Byrne since she was 10 months old (and is now 20 months). We have had a great experience, and have only good things to say about the teachers and staff. They provide two meals and one snack per day, which is incredibly helpful for busy families like ours, and my daughter loves going to "school" every morning.

  • Green Byrne is a really special place. My child attended from when she was 3.5 months old until we moved out of the area when she was almost 3 years old and we had such a great experience during that period. The teachers are warm, caring, and constantly doing wonderful learning-based activities with the kids. The admin staff are organized, thoughtful, and communicative. We really couldn't have asked for a better childcare experience for an infant/toddler, and we truly miss the Green Byrne community!

  • We consider Green Byrne our co-parents. We are so grateful for every staff member that contributes to making the center a place our daughter loves. We enrolled our daughter in the infant room when she was about six months and more than a year later we still can't believe how lucky we are to have found this place. The communication is excellent, staff are kind and attentive, and each person I have encountered has been genuine and generous with our daughter. We attribute so much of her development to Green Byrne- The center has helped her develop a voice, her personality, and a love for learning. We actually think she's a bit disappointed on the weekends to not be going to school. As an educator I know how much goes into running a school and Green Byrne has exceeded all of my expectations. I almost didn't want to write this review because we believe that Green Byrne is one of the best kept secrets in the city!

Questions parents ask about THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER

Is THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER holds Pennsylvania certificate 100311246-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Philadelphia County. The current certificate runs to January 25, 2027. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER STAR 4 - ACC, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on November 25, 2025. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER accept child care subsidy?

Yes. THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Infant and toddler, Preschool, School-age. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 18.

Does this page show inspection results for THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects THE GREEN/BYRNE CHILD CARE CENTER's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
