  • Kids play grounds the best all around!

  • There's a power hungry older man that drives a white car on the walking trail. Extremely dangerous to be doing that. He yelled at my kid when they were playing volleyball saying they needed to leave so they could "put a fence up".

  • I was told by someone at the YMCA that I could use guest passes at Mack park pool ( the same as you can use at the Y) Once I get there with my friend, they tell me I can’t use guest passes. Even though I called beforehand to check! They told her she needed to bring a valid ID. they never even looked! She might not have been who she said she was! That seems real safe for a place with children! My friend was also overcharged, they charged her 5 year old as an adult, The person working at the desk couldn’t split cash or card because they hire highschool kids who have no idea how to count let alone even want to work. Then we get in the pool and no one told her you needed wristbands and she gets yelled at by a lifeguard for not having them after we had already been there for over an hour… also seems real “safe” for kids. This isn’t the first time they have given wrong information , or screwed up an account , or didn’t do their job correctly. Someone working there put my friends card info in wrong and were charging someone else’s account for months!! Then when she gets to the pool, they tell her she can’t come in because she owes money… she’s confused and it’s all because the worker couldn’t do their job properly. Let’s also add that half of the treadmills don’t work, the water machines filter is blinking red and looks so disgustingly dirty… Total waste of money. I’m only using the membership for the pool this year and then I’m canceling and going to planet fitness.

  • Friendly staff, great play area for kids and child watch. Great changing areas. Small gym and half of the treadmills are broken or nonfunctional. Not much space for free weights.

  • Currently renovating and expanding floor space. Short course pool for lap swims, aerobics, and family play. All kinds of family friendly activities are available to include trainer support as well.

  • I just came here for the track loop. It was nice, there's a little stream along the side. They had the total eclipse I went to on April 8th 2024. Too bad it was mostly cloudy, but it was free to attend and you got glasses to use.

Questions parents ask about YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY

Is YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY a licensed child care provider in Pennsylvania?

Yes. YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY holds Pennsylvania certificate 101746328-0001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning in Indiana County. The current certificate runs to November 9, 2026. Confirm current standing at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch before enrolling.

What is YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY's Keystone STARS rating?

Pennsylvania rates YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY STAR 1, on a scale of one to four where four is highest. That tier took effect on December 8, 2023. Keystone STARS measures programme standards such as staff qualifications and learning environment, not inspection outcomes.

Does Pennsylvania record a negative sanction against YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY?

No. The state's provider dataset records no negative sanction against YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY at the time the record was published. That is a single field in a snapshot, not a full compliance history, and it is not the same as a clean inspection record. The licensing inspection detail is at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch.

Does YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY accept child care subsidy?

Yes. YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY holds a subsidy agreement with the state. The agreement covers these age groups: Preschool. An agreement means the provider can bill the subsidy programme, not that a funded place is free today. Eligibility is decided by your Early Learning Resource Center, Early Learning Resource Center for Region 3.

Does this page show inspection results for YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY?

No. Pennsylvania completes at least one unannounced inspection a year at every licensed provider, and publishes the results through the provider search at compass.dhs.pa.gov/providersearch. Those results are not included here, and there is no open dataset of them, so nothing on this page reflects YMCA OF INDIANA COUNTY's inspection history either way. Look the provider up there and read the licensing inspection record.
