Don’t let the inflated Google reviews fool you—check out their 3-star Yelp rating for the real story. My son was hit twice and spit on by the same classmate on three separate occasions over a three-week period in their Pre-K class. When brought to her attention, Director Angela Seslar was an absolute nightmare to deal with. She appeared minimally phased, chalking the physical aggression up to "developmental learning." Angela seemed far more concerned with "holding the hand" of the aggressive child through their "developmental experiences" than ensuring my son was in a safe environment. Her complete lack of accountability and poor management had a deeply negative impact on my child. On top of the safety issues, my son frequently came home complaining that he had to cover his ears because the classrooms were so chaotic and loud. Parent participation here is also virtually non-existent. To make matters worse, the assistant director, Kanika, gossiped to my wife (who was volunteering at the time) about how upset I was. Yes, I am upset. Having your child assaulted at school while the director minimizes the behavior, refuses to apologize, and acts completely out of touch is entirely unacceptable. While the corporate CEO eventually reached out to apologize, it’s clear this school suffers from being corporately run rather than individually owned. This is highly apparent in their severe understaffing and high child-to-teacher ratios. Their "we love our teachers" marketing is complete nonsense. Furthermore, during our time there, the state had a sign posted in the building indicating that Angela had even let her director's license expire. I immediately pulled my child after these incidents and enrolled him at Primrose, which has been a night-and-day difference. With an owner physically present in the building, proper staffing, reasonable kids to teacher ratios, the environment is safe, calm, and professionally managed. I strongly encourage any parent looking at this school—or anyone currently enrolled who is having second thoughts—to look elsewhere. This place is poorly managed.
James OceanJun 14, 2026We had a very disappointing experience with The Gardner School of Brentwood. While the school heavily markets itself as academically focused and premium, we found the actual level of care, communication, and responsiveness to parent concerns to be severely lacking. What stood out most was the dismissive attitude when legitimate concerns were raised. Instead of feeling heard or supported as parents, we often felt brushed aside and treated as though our concerns were inconveniences rather than important discussions about our child’s wellbeing and experience. For a school operating at this price point and branding itself around excellence, the customer service and parent communication fell far below expectations. Professionalism and empathy matter just as much as academics in early childhood education, and unfortunately that balance seemed missing here. We ultimately left feeling disappointed not only in the level of support provided, but in the overall culture surrounding parent engagement and care. I would strongly encourage prospective parents to look beyond the marketing materials and ask detailed questions about how concerns are actually handled once your child is enrolled.
Joseph KreckelJun 5, 2026We have been a TGS family for 6 years now, with 2 kids, and are so happy to be part of this community. The kids have always received such loving care and attention and adored their teachers. They also receive a great education here - our oldest was very well prepared to begin kindergarten (even though it's a big adjustment, no matter what). Most recently, Ms. Paula has been an amazing toddler teacher for our little one! She plans such enriching activities for the kids, shows us through the app what they are doing, and gives us detailed updates. She has such a big heart and a beautiful bond with the kids. Over the years, the current management has always struck a great balance between understanding the needs of working parents and prioritizing the safety of students and staff. We feel confident leaving our treasured kids in their hands and have loved watching them bloom in the care of these amazing staff and teachers. We cannot recommend TGS Brentwood enough!
Allison WheatleyFeb 28, 2026We’ve been lucky enough to find TGS at a time when we needed it most. The infant teachers have been so loving and attentive to our little one. We are grateful for Anna, Caroline & Faith. The school has provided us a village. The teachers do a great job of giving us detailed updates with notes and pictures throughout the day. We know that if you choose to bring your little one here you’ll feel the love & care as well. We can’t recommend TGS enough.
Tori FFeb 27, 2026We have been with The Gardner School of Brentwood for several months now and have absolutely loved it. Our 2 year old had a hard transition as it was her first time in childcare. We went through a week or two of tears at every goodbye, but most importantly felt fully supported by the staff. We would get several pictures throughout the day, and they are quick to answer any questions. If you were looking for more than just someone to watch your child everyday.. and want to invest in them learning proactively, investing in their growth, and creating a small family environment with the staff.. Then this is the school for you.
Rachael ShoffnerFeb 25, 2026We love The Gardner School ("TGS") and all the teachers and staff have been amazing. Our daughter currently has Miss Alyssa, and she is so sweet to her and always makes her feel special and heard each morning when she comes in to say hi and give her a hug. We feel very fortunate to have found TGS and will be sad when she graduates this year. She also has loved the summer programs and special guests each year.

Questions parents ask about THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD
Is THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD a licensed child care provider in Tennessee?
- Yes. THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD holds Tennessee licence TN-1743, listed as "LICENSED" by the Department of Human Services, Child Care Services in Williamson County. Confirm current standing on the state's child care provider map at onedhs.tn.gov before enrolling.
What is THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD's star rating in Tennessee?
- Tennessee rates THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD 3 stars, on a scale of one to three where three is highest. The Star-Quality rating measures programme standards the state assesses, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence itself.
What are THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD's hours?
- The state record lists 7:00 AM-6:00 PM. Tennessee publishes the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.
What are the site rules at THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD?
- The provider reports No Smoking/Vaping. These are self-reported to the state rather than verified at inspection, so confirm anything your child's health depends on directly.
Does this page show inspection results for THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD?
- No. Tennessee publishes a report card of licensing citations for each provider, and those are not included here, so nothing on this page reflects THE GARDNER SCHOOL OF BRENTWOOD's inspection history either way. Look the provider up on the state's child care provider map at onedhs.tn.gov and read its report card.
