  • Unfortunately I did not have a good experience here with the admin staff. I will say the main teacher (Ms Maria) for the toddler classroom is warm, kind and attentive to the children, which is why I give 2 stars. But the owner, admin and other staff make it difficult to give any more stars. Ms. Zusie is the head of communication as she is an administrator, and unfortunately does not have the greatest customer service and seems indifferent. When I first dropped my daughter off, I was not informed via the app that she was having a difficult time. I found out at the end of the day at pickup. This made the rest of the day very difficult as my daughter hadn’t eaten or slept the entire day and was overtired and clearly stressed. While some adjustment is expected, I had specifically messaged through the app stating that I wanted to pick her up early if she was struggling. Despite my child not sleeping and only resting for about 15–20 minutes, I was told by Ms. Zusie I was not allowed to pick her up until after “nap time” was over even though she had been crying on and off all during the day. When I inquired if a warm bottle of milk was provided to help her transition to napping, other questions regarding her first day, and if I could receive a little more communication regarding her transition, via the app, I received a cold response (again from Zusie) stating that the app is only updated three times a week for photos and anything further would be considered "extra” as they need to tend to the children. (Which is understandable but I only requested for extra communication the first day or two of this difficult transition). The following day, when I tried to speak with one of the teachers (Ms Yvette) to discuss how to make my daughter’s second day easier, administrative staff (Ms Zusie) interrupted and shut down the conversation, stating that because I had messaged via the app, there was no need to speak with the teacher directly. On day 2, I handed Ms Yvette my daughter who was obviously upset and didn’t want to be left, instead of comforting my daughter, Ms Yvette just plucked her up from my arms (holding her under her armpits as she cried and didn’t bother to turn her around to properly hold her). For this reason I requested to watch the classroom camera from the office for 15 minutes to see how they would deal with my daughter after drop off. I saw my daughter was not given any extra attention by the teacher (Ms Yvette) despite being visibly upset/crying. She simply plopped my daughter in the high chair and placed food in front of her as she continued to cry and hyperventilate without even patting her on the back/comfort her. I confronted Ms. Zusie about this, but she was indifferent as she responded with, “Maybe you should find another daycare where you could watch the camera for a lot longer to make you more comfortable.” Instead of offering a resolution or reassurance, I was essentially told to go elsewhere. Therefore, I do not recommend this facility to other parents seeking a supportive and communicative environment for their children. I emailed the owner who didn’t respond. When I informed her I’d be taking my child out and went to collect her things, the owner refused to engage in conversation (didn’t respond when I told her why I was leaving) and simply opened the door as if to say “leave.” I hope they undergo training in how to improve their customer service skills. I hope they one day realize that caring for children includes continued reassurance to parents during the different stages of a child’s experience at daycare. Communication is pertinent given the different obstacles/challenges that may arise as children navigate through their daycare experience. Not to mention the importance of caring about the emotional needs of children through their daycare experience. I also believe that they are simply an oiled machine. They are just there to feed your kid, check a box and move on. If you want a more nurturing environment, consider elsewhere.

  • Highly recommend it. LRDS is a great school with great leadership. The Director, Ms. Sue, is professional, very understanding and accommodating to our needs. As you walk in, you can't help but notice how clean the place is. The teachers are very friendly and caring. My 2 kids went there and the fact that they run towards the school and into their classrooms speaks volumes. They really enjoy it there, during pick up, they are always playing and laughing and they look happy and as a mother, knowing that my kids are well taken care of throughout the day is key. We get pictures and videos regularly which gives us a glimpse into their day and those are always appreciated. I am sad that my kids are leaving as we have created bonds with the awesome staff at LRDS and I would recommend LRDS to anyone in a heartbeat.

  • As a parent of a Little River Daycare Student for two years now, I am very happy with how the teachers, helpers, and administration cared for my child and communicated with my partner and me. My child has known some of the helpers since she started daycare at 10 months old, such that they share long-lasting relationships that ground her in a sense of community. Everyone in the “baby room” (for infants less than one year old) was kind and careful with our girl, sharing sweet photos of her happily eating, sleeping, and playing in a new environment outside of the home for the first time. The easy, open communication and transparent daily routines helped us feel assured that our child was well cared for while we were away at work, especially in those early infant days. In the more formal one- and two-year-old classrooms, my daughter has loved all her teachers. In Year One, she learned to play well with others and express herself with words or signs before whining, crying, or hitting under the compassionate guidance of Ms. Shakira. In Year Two, she soaked up more numbers, shapes, sports, and vocabulary each and every day thanks to the playful engagement from her teachers, Ms. Queila and Ms. Adriana. She has made friends throughout her changing classrooms, and even made friends with older and younger kids when they all play together at the end of the day. Growing up since infancy with her age-mates has been so specia: The teachers have loved to tell us about her developing friendships over the years, and the relationships she’s built with older and younger kids help her learn even more social skills. LRDS is a very clean, very safe, and very nurturing environment to grow our little ones’ hearts and minds. My child is leaving for a bilingual school to connect with her heritage, but our whole family is sad to be leaving such a sweet and steady community. I highly recommend them for your child’s development and your own peace of mind.

  • LRDS has been amazing! My son use to stay home with me and I was all he knew, now he can’t wait to go to school. He has become social and very independent. I’m grateful for all the teachers who have helped him. Such a great school and amazing staff. I definitely recommend to any parent who is looking for childcare.

  • Both of my children attend this school. Structurally, the school is safe, has an outdoor area, Ms Sue is on top of literally everything. She is great. And they are flexible with appointments. There are also toilets in each classroom for potty training! The teachers and Ms Sue are also very responsive in the app! Emotionally our kids love it there. In the summer, especially; they have a ton of activities. The teachers are great! And our kids have both made some best friends here.
