This was, without question, the worst childcare center I’ve ever experienced. The children had so little to do that they were regularly playing in a sandbox contaminated with cat feces. Staff frequently had to spend their own money on basic supplies, activities, and necessities because the center failed to provide them. I personally witnessed a director grab a child by the face while yelling at them. I also repeatedly observed management yelling at both staff and children in ways that were completely inappropriate for a childcare environment. Behavioral issues were consistently mishandled. Children who hit, kicked, bit, or attacked staff and other children were often removed to the office where they were allowed to play instead of facing meaningful intervention. This created an environment where disruptive and aggressive behavior was effectively rewarded rather than corrected. Staff received little to no support when dealing with violent behaviors. Employees were expected to endure being hit, kicked, scratched, and having their hair pulled without adequate assistance, documentation, or communication with parents. Health and safety concerns were also alarming. Sick children were frequently kept in classrooms instead of being sent home. Children who were visibly ill were often told to lie down rather than having their parents contacted. As a result, illnesses spread throughout the center far more than they should have. What disturbed me most was the overall lack of concern for both the children and the employees responsible for caring for them. Parents trust childcare providers with the people they love most, and based on my experience, this is not a place I would recommend to any family. Parents deserve to know where their money is going and how their children are being cared for. Based on what I personally witnessed, I cannot recommend this center to anyone.
AlysonJun 19, 2026I have never been to this place and I never leave reviews.. ever. But I was compelled to give this place a review after seeing that some people are obviously trying to sabotage this business by giving 1 star with no review. And on the same days!! Come on guys. At least spread it out and leave a few words.
Jena ClarksonApr 28, 2022I'm very saddened to leave a negative review as Ms. Alyson is wonderful with the children and helpful in many ways. My son attended this daycare in 2019-2020 and we had an amazing experience before relocating. My son enrolled again as we moved back to the area, and I had full trust and faith in this daycare. This review is towards her staff who handled kicking my 4-year-old autistic son out of the daycare program terribly. My son began school at Ms. Alyson's on April 4th, 2022, with no issues or calls concerning behavior or how staff could care for him. It was well known he is on the autism spectrum with speech delays and sensory processing issues (per application and medical record submitted) this fact alone, I feel would indicate to any educator or childcare provider that there will need to be some sort of accommodations. On April 11th at 8am, I received a call while I was at work from Ms. Cathy (spelling?) informing me that my son needs to be picked up immediately for hitting, kicking, and biting his teachers and that they're unable to calm him and they do not have the staff to care for him, while concluding the call with "we probably won't be able to keep him here as we cannot provide the care he needs." Mind you, this is not behavior he exhibited at his previous daycare of 1.5 years (Other than the typical exit seeking, stimming and hyperactive behavior). I reminded her on the phone he is special needs, and this behavior is totally out of the norm for him. I certainly didn't mind picking him up since he was having a rough time and needed comforting, (I had to do this at his previous day care twice during his first 2 weeks due to him being overstimulated and adjusting to a new environment, luckily staff was patient and understood his needs), I spoke with another teacher on the phone later that evening who reiterated the same narrative and described him as violent so this is why he cannot return and that we will receive a check in the mail for our application fee. While I in no way support children physically acting out, especially towards teachers, this entire situation has left me absolutely sickened and speechless. My son attended the school a total of 4 full days and was kicked out, without being given a chance. There was in no way any attempt to work with us in accommodating or giving him an adjustment period like kids with autism need, he was immediately discarded, which is ableist. As prevalent ASD is, I highly recommend staff be properly trained as not every child is neurotypical.
Olivia BowmanApr 13, 2022Miss Alyson’s Daycare is the biggest blessing in Caroline County. Miss Alyson & her staff go above and beyond for my child. Miss Alyson has the biggest heart & her staff care for my child like one of their own. My child has blossomed at the center. The center directors at both locations are amazing to work with. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my child. Thank you Miss Alyson & her amazing staff! It takes a village to raise a child. I’m so glad you are a part of our village.
Dawn BaneSep 16, 2020Miss Alyson and her team do a fantastic job with kids! They have a great program, offer very reasonable rates, and legitimately care about each and every child. If you are looking for affordable, flexible, quality care it the Ladysmith area, look no farther.
