We have three children, the first two went to a different neighborhood daycare and our youngest to this one. This daycare is wonderful and avoided many pitfalls we experienced with the other. These people are reliable which is an absolute necessity for childcare. They try to stay open on inclement weather days when parents must work regardless. They're very accommodating and although all childcare is expensive, relatively affordable. They make the most of what they have. Great summer camp and periodic activities like a Magician, animal handler, and all sorts of fun. Nice big playground. Clean interior. Most importantly, our daughter LOVED Ms. Sharon. When it came time to join her brothers at their school, she said she was ready but would miss Ms. Sharon as they loved each other so much. Also I place high premium on administration quality and Jenny is great. Very responsive, professional yet personable. Highly recommend this daycare.
Brandon RenzOct 28, 2025I have to pass this place on my commute in the morning. As I was waiting for the light to turn green the other month at around 7:20am there was some woman in a grayish SUV/minivan who rolled down their window and started screaming at me and outright threatening me that I was in the way even though I was sandwiched between two cars. This went on for an almost full minute with them honking, screaming, and threatening me even though I literally couldn't inch up any further. They then turned into here. Not sure if that's an instructor or one of the parents but if that's who is caring for these kids then I wouldn't trust them or they just tolerate abusive parenting? Unsure but with the rise of tension and violence in this country this was a bit scary for 7 in the morning midweek.
Jamie AceOct 23, 2025Jenny assisted me with signing my son up, and everything went smoothly until today when my child started at the academy with his teacher, Sharon. Early in the day, I received a call at work asking if my child has allergies — even though I had already informed Jenny that he doesn’t, and I completed a health form that clearly states this. When I asked Sharon why she didn’t review the health form or communicate with Jenny, she defensively stated that she’s “not an assistant but a teacher.” Very unprofessional. I was also told that children are reminded to use the potty every 30 minutes, yet my son did not receive a reminder and ended up going in his pull-up, which seemed to frustrate Sharon. During our conversation, she continuously talked over me, forcing me to end the call. Another concerning incident happened the day I enrolled my son. He was happily playing in one of the rooms while Jenny watched on the camera. Suddenly, I heard him crying — I walked in and found Sharon pulling him by the arm and telling him he couldn’t be in the room. There’s no excuse for that kind of behavior. Whatever happened to leading children with patience and understanding? My son will be removed from her class. Sharon should not be working with children — this experience has been very disappointing.
Saba WondafrashOct 14, 2025We have been consistently going to this daycare for 7 years! My oldest, now in 3rd grade, started here when she was 2. My 2 other children have followed, with my youngest now in Pre-K. The teachers are dedicated to making the kids feel safe, cared for, and comfortable, all while teaching them skills to prepare for Kindergarten and beyond. The staff, Director (new and old) and families really make this place amazing. I highly recommend sending your child here!
Amanda LenhardAug 29, 2025We couldn’t be happier with our experience at this NOVA Early Learning-Lincolnia. From the moment we enrolled our daughter at 2 years old (she is now 4) and son (2), we felt welcomed into a community that genuinely cares. Director Ginny sets the tone—she’s amazing: attentive, responsive, and clearly passionate about creating a nurturing environment for every child. What stands out most is how personal everything feels. The teachers know every child’s name, and it’s clear they love what they do. We’ve especially bonded with Ms. Sharon and Ms. Senait, who have been with the school for over a decade. Their warmth, consistency, and deep experience give us so much peace of mind. They treat our kids like family, and it shows in the way our children light up when they see them each morning. This isn’t just a daycare—it’s a place where relationships grow, and where children are truly seen and cared for. We’re so grateful to be part of it.
Jessica WooAug 26, 2025We feel so incredibly blessed and fortunate to have found such a warm and wonderful daycare at Northern Virginia Academy. Over the past year, it has been amazing to watch our daughter learn and grow through the truly nurturing care received. Our daughter has been so blessed with awesome teachers who not only understand her challenges but also handle them with grace and patience. We are so impressed with how friendly and professional the entire staff are. They are excellent communicators, and their knowledge of early childhood education is evident in everything they do. Thank you for making this such a positive experience for the whole family.
