St Matthew’s preschool is the third school my two year old attends. We started in a big chain franchised daycare, then a nanny share and landed last on St Matthew’s. Every day, I am continually surprised by what we are getting out of this school. For their 18 months+ toddler class, there are 7 kids with 2 teachers. They offer half day (9-1) and full day (7-6) programs. They have music classes twice a week, yoga/bible class once a week. We joined in March, and by end of May, the preschool teacher gave us two big portfolios of art work to bring home. These are not just coloring or sketching, these are real toddler art with themes. We were also given a 20-page “report card” with handwritten notes. I’m in awe with what we are getting out of this half day program, with a tuition at a fraction of what we were paying in the previous daycare/nanny share. They are very creative in their toddler class, one week was about travel theme. They handed out “plane tickets” to the kids and took them out of the classroom to board the plane to “Disneyland”. The kids had to bring their “luggage” and get seated on the plane. The preschool teacher showed a short video of airline safety and explained to the kids what it means. This is an example where they use imaginative play to teach the kids with minimal materials. My daughter attended a big chain franchised daycare when she was 3 months old. In the small infant room, she was one of 12 babies with 3 teachers. She had hand foot mouth 3 times during the 10 months there, ultimately making her sister and all of us sick. They would lose her belongings such as socks, jackets, bottles regularly. It was chaos in the older classrooms with bite marks on kids. They would charge for summer activities and enrichment classes which were worse than those in the county recreational centers. We neither had luck with the nanny share. There were a lot of issues and disagreements with the nanny and the work was of low quality while the cost was the highest. We came into St. Matthew’s with no expectations given the lower cost compared to our other experiences. In every single way, the school exceeds our expectations - they provide quality child care consistently. I can’t thank Ms Liza and Ms Candy enough for their exceptional care for my child. They keep the classroom clean enough that my child is rarely sick. They feed my child when she is reluctant to eat lunch. They hold her tight when she needs comfort. They keep communication simple enough that I am aware of how my child is doing at school. St. Matthew’s preschool is affiliated with the church and they incorporate Christian teaching in the curriculum. Even though I’m not religious and I don’t go to church, I find the Bible study relaxing and fun. I come to realize that the preschool mission is to extend community outreach instead of maximizing profit. Therefore, my child can learn in a small class environment as compared to a for-profit daycare which cares primarily on maximizing enrollment to increase revenue. We are blessed to have enrolled in St. Matthew’s and will recommend their school as well as the summer camp to anyone needing care. Thank you Ms Latisha for helping us navigate the registration process and showing us the school.
Crystal LJul 30, 2026In every way, the St. Matthew's Weekday School staff go above and beyond to provide care and support for their students — and it shows. Every day, my daughter woke up excited to learn and grow at St. Matthew's. As a parent, I appreciated the updates, the commitment, and the engagement that the staff provided to ensure that every child's needs were met, every day. Every child should be lucky enough to attend school at an environment like this one. I cannot recommend the school enough.
Christopher WellsSep 15, 2025We love it at St Matthews Weekday School! From the age appropriate play-based curriculum, to the attention to cleanliness, to the consistent love and support given to the kids, it's an A+ operation. Our daughter absolutely loves going to school every morning. We can't recommend it enough!

James MiervaldisJul 1, 2025Loving, dedicated staff and a good community of families.
Jacqueline ChevalierApr 2, 2025We have had a wonderful experience with our little ones. The staff truly care about the children and take the time to help each child grow. This place feels close-knit and connections-based; rather than a typical corporate run daycare center. We have been happy with the communication from the admin team, also, who take the time to respond to any messages thoughtfully.
