Our 1 year old started at Two birds in the infant room August 2025, she quickly moved to the toddler room as she started to walk and our experience so far has been excellent. The director, her teachers and all staff members have gone above and beyond to help her developmentally. Her vocabulary, milestones and above her expected age range and she has excelled since starting at Two Birds. She was cared for by a nanny prior to being at Two Birds and we did have hesitations know the initial reports from one year ago. Her teachers have been communicative, loving, proactive, and incredible every step of the way when we voiced our concerns upon joining. We are hoping for our new born son to join in the winter and have loved Two birds every step of the way.
Emiline JasperMay 11, 2026Systemic, horrific findings by VDSS - I highly, highly recommend looking this up before considering sending your child here. We noticed an IMMEDIATE difference in our child's demeanor when we moved to a different care provider. And Two Birds, continually removing honest parent reviews contributes to the tarnishing of your reputation - parents in the community are aware that you are doing this, and it is further eroding trust.
Danae AskarAug 27, 2025The administration does not prioritize food or physical safety. 1. My son started Two Birds at 14 months and was routinely given large wedges of apples and large cubes of cantaloupe—which are not safe ways of serving these foods to a 14-month old. When I brought up the concern to the Director, she suggested giving teachers butter knives so that they could cut the food as they saw fit, which is unhelpful because teachers don’t know (or should know) how to present food safely to children—that’s the kitchen’s job. When I suggested that the kitchen staff used an app on how to safely present food in an age-appropriate way, I was asked if it was free. It is, but the question says a lot about how food safety is prioritized (or not). 2. My son was also bitten 5 times in a month by the same child. When my wife and I raised the concern with the Director, she dismissed it. When we asked about their biting policy, we were told there was none and that no child is expelled anywhere for biting (false). She then proceeded to call my son’s teachers into the office and blame them for not keeping a closer eye on children. Mind you, we weren’t complaining about the teachers. There seems to be a pattern of disregard for safety. *To the Two Birds Administration and/or their PR firm: Stop deleting parents’ honest reviews. It is not only a bad look, but one that further underscores a view of prioritizing profit over transparency and putting children first.
Ricardo MaertensAug 22, 2025Concerning investigation into this daycare center with the Virginia Department of Social Services is underway (May of 2025) with allegations of abuse by staff. I’d think twice before sending a child here.
Sara WilliamsJul 23, 2025We have really enjoyed our time at Two Birds! My daughter, who started at 3 months and is now a thriving toddler, has developed strong social and motor skills in their engaging environment. The center's commitment to free play and creativity has supported her sense of independence and joy. She adores her teachers and is eager to say hello to everyone at drop off. When I was breastfeeding, I appreciated the dedicated feeding and pumping rooms they provided, which made the transition back to work much smoother. The community of staff and parents have been incredibly supportive. I highly recommend!
Danielle WiltAug 7, 2024We've been at Two Birds Old Town since our daughter was 5 months old (2.5 years). I could not have asked for a better community to be a part of. The facility is bright, fun and fresh and you can feel the genuine care and attention from the teachers towards the kiddos. The programming is thoughtful and unique, not to the mention the weekend classes and parent activities that are offered on top of day-to-day care. The connected culture that the parents have created is the cherry on top. All around an incredibly special place to be a part of.
