  • We’ve had a truly wonderful experience at IMA Capitol Hill. Both of our children started in the toddler classroom and continued all the way through pre-K, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the care they received. The teachers and staff are exceptionally loving, thoughtful, and intentional in everything they do. Our children were very well prepared, both academically and socioemotionally, for elementary school. The administration creates a warm, joyful, and genuinely magical environment within the school’s beautiful building. Each classroom is carefully and intentionally designed, grounded in Montessori principles while also adapting thoughtfully to the unique needs of each group of children. The school is located in the heart of the city and the campus has done a good job prioritizing safety and meaningful outdoor play despite the constraints of an urban setting. Behind the gated walls, IMA has created a safe, nurturing, and truly special space for children to learn and grow. It's also a beautiful building! We are very happy with this school and program, and the teachers and administration truly are the heart of what makes IMA so special. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for a caring, high-quality Montessori early education.

  • We are thrilled with our son’s teacher in the young toddler class! The kids do fun, creative activities that are thoughtfully designed for age-appropriate learning and development. Daily updates and photos in the school app help me talk to my 3-year-old about what he did that day. The staff is warm and caring and have given helpful feedback and support with potty training and nap transitions.

  • We’ve had a wonderful experience at this daycare. The Pre-K and Pre-School programs are very personalized, and it’s clear the teachers truly know each child. Our daughters are in the Spanish immersion class, and it’s been amazing to see them maintain their Spanish while quickly learning English as well. The teachers are incredibly kind and supportive. We feel very grateful knowing our daughters are cared for in such a nurturing and attentive environment.

  • Absolutely the best school experience for both the kid and the parents. My older son started last year in the Chinese Toddler classroom. The teacher/student ratio is more than what the State requires. The teachers were so loving, caring for my son who was struggling to get used to the schools at the beginning. Kids do lots of creative arts and crafts activities, as well as the school has fantastic art and music teachers. They are great at covering American and other cultural holidays. They also have floating teachers who are almost as involved and super nice! I never look back when I leave my son at IMA. Highly recommended!

  • Two of my kids currently are in Chinese classes at IMA and love it. They both have made great friends, enjoy going to school each day, and have made great strides in their education (both with practical life skills as well as academics). I'm especially amazed at how quickly my son was able to pick up Mandarin and recognize and use basic phrases. The administration is always responsive to questions or requests I have and clearly care about listening to feedback. They've provided updates and made changes to the school based on what they hear from parents, such as switching vendors for school lunch and adding an indoor play space. If you don't live within walking distance or bus in, parking for dropoff and pickup can be a bit tough, but I've never had to circle more than a couple of times or park more than a couple blocks away.

  • I tell everyone who asks about what a wonderful place IMA is. The staff is so loving and supportive and encouraging. They worked with us to help both my kids become independent in the bathroom, sleep time and eating. It is a calm, loving and accessible environment which helped my kids develop confidence and communication skills. My son went there through Pre-K and was very prepared for kindergarten. It was a big milestone when he started walking in alone without saying bye. He's was eager to learn and start his day. My daughter is currently there and walks in alone, without even saying bye. She loves it too!
