JOURNEY DISCOVERY CENTER

The teachers were very nice and I appreciated the homemade food. However the owners are very difficult to work with. Before our child started we were made to pay for almost a full month of care we didn't need, nearly $1300, because I didn't realize our conversation about a possible start date was the date we were being locked in to. So it was either pay or lose the spot. When we decided to switch to a different daycare we gave a month notice and again were made to pay for the full month of care because our child would be attending for two days of that final month. I tried to discuss both of these issues this with the owners, Nikki and Nicole, but they were not at all understanding or empathetic. Instead the response was "well you know, we are a business". And just the overall price of care is outrageous. About $400 more a month than other providers of the same quality. Also nice how rather than responding to negative reviews Nicole leaves her own 5 star review in response.

Both daughters not only loved going to journey every day, but loved the teachers as well. We as parents couldn’t ask for a better environment to prepare our kids for kindergarten!

Love them! My son is in the PreK room. The teachers are amazing, so friendly. Every time I drop off or pick up, the kids are having a blast and involved in a fun, engaging activity. We started at a different preK because Journey was full. My son dreaded going, and it tore me apart dropping him off. When Journey had a spot, we hustled over. Now my son loves going to school, waves me away at drop off, and is happily gabbing with a teacher or another child immediately. Very grateful for this school!

I am the owner and director of the Herzog Family Center. I explored many facilities in Spokane in hopes to find other organizations who provide intentional, quality early child care and education. I was pleased to find that Journey Discovery Center sets high expectations for their staff to provide and create a safe and consistent learning . I encourage all families looking for excellent child care to explore Journey.

Teacher was good with my child, facility appeared clean. However, the office staff / owners are dishonest and literally out to make a buck. They breached their contract and pursued charging me for days they did not provide care, at their request, and caused complications with my job and family. If this is the character of person that is going to be spending time with my children and influencing them then it is unacceptable. I highly recommend finding other care.
