If you are looking for 4K, Bernie’s is the place to be! As an educator, I have been amazed by the high quality of the teaching and the creative ways they engage the children. I love hearing my daughter share stories about her walks to discover bird nests, learning about size by measuring “dinosaur” bones, and exploring weight by comparing boiled and unboiled eggs. Strong pedagogy is complemented by a delicious vegetarian meal program, which, to me, is a game changer. Now my daughter even picks out vegetables when we go to the grocery store 🥦 The warm relationships with all the educators across the center make it even more special. For top-notch childcare, this is it.

Both of our kids attend Bernie’s and we truly couldn’t be happier with the experience! It’s a wonderful place for them to learn, grow, and get the best possible start in life! We’re so grateful to be part of the Bernie’s community for so many reasons, but most of all because of the incredible staff. They are warm, caring, and attentive, and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing our kids are genuinely loved and well looked after every day. Both of our children have absolutely bloomed at Bernie’s — learning new skills, building confidence, making friends, and having so many positive, enriching experiences. We couldn’t recommend Bernie’s more highly!

Our daughter has attended Bernie's Place for about 6 months now. We moved here from out of state and were struggling to find childcare, as we had about 4 weeks to plan a 2500-mile move. Amy, the Director, was very accommodating and found a place for her in the Maple Room. Our previous preschool was "okay." It was dark, not very inviting, and understaffed. Bernie's is nothing like that. Our girl went from being shy and crying constantly at drop off to being excited to play with her friends. She is excited to start her day and often runs in without even saying goodbye; she just loves her school that much. Pickup time is the opposite, where she often argues with us about staying just a little bit longer. Sometimes it takes us 10 minutes to leave because she hugs each friend goodbye. She truly loves her friends and the school. Not to make this review extra long, but the difference here is the staff. You can tell that every person who works here cares about kids, and it shows in just how much she has grown, both as a person and physically (she loves the food!). The events are amazing as well, with volunteer days, parents' night out, pumpkin carving/decorating, etc. The joy this place brings is amazing. I am blown away by the culture. Our daughter will stay here until she ages out, that is for sure.

Our two kids have attended Bernie's, and I can't emphasize enough how grateful we are to this community. Our kids are well cared for, well fed, and learn compassion, autonomy and how to be a good friend to others. We have been very happy with our time at this preschool and would happily recommend it to others.

Our family has been a part of the Bernies' community for almost 4.5 years, since my oldest daughter was a baby. We’ve been in every single room over the years, and now both of our daughters attend. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. Bernies is incredibly special. The teachers are absolutely exceptional, deeply committed, caring, and genuinely invested in the children. My girls are happy to be dropped off each day, and we feel completely at ease leaving them here. I know they are loved, supported, and cared for, and that these teachers are helping us raise two kind, confident, amazing human beings. I will be forever grateful to them. I want to give a special shout-out to the 4K program, which is truly outstanding. The center offers full-time 4K, Monday through Friday, as part of MMSD, and it is nothing short of amazing. The program is high-quality, thoughtfully run, and affordable. Having access to full-day 4K with consistent care, excellent teachers, and a built-in food program has been such a gift for our family. I could not recommend the 4K program enough. The facilities are impeccably managed and consistently clean. The food program overall is outstanding: nutritious, healthy vegetarian meals that are thoughtfully prepared. As a parent, it’s such a relief not to worry about the quality of what my children are eating during the day. That burden is completely removed. The outdoor and play facilities are truly unmatched. The center is located in a low-traffic area and is deeply connected to nature. The children go on hikes, explore nearby trails, walk through a lovely neighborhood, and play at many local parks. Even the on-site outdoor spaces are expansive, well-maintained, securely fenced, and far larger than what most daycares offer. Beyond the care itself, this is an incredible community. I’ve served on the board twice, and the parent community is just as thoughtful, engaged, and supportive as the staff. If you are looking for a daycare where your children will be deeply cared for, challenged, nourished, and truly known — Bernies is it. We feel unbelievably lucky to be part of this community. :)
