  • We have been incredibly happy with our experience at The Learning Gardens. Both of our daughters have attended TLG, our oldest is now 5 and still loves going to their summer camp, while our youngest is 3 and currently enrolled. Over the years, we've consistently been impressed by the caring, dedicated teachers, the strong communication with families, and the positive environment they've created. One thing that really stands out is the food. Alex, the chef, prepares nutritious, homemade meals every day, which is a refreshing change from the typical daycare menu. Since Patricia took over as owner, she has done a wonderful job continuing to build on the culture and quality of the program. It's clear she cares about the children, families, and staff. Most importantly, we've always felt our daughters were safe, loved, and encouraged to learn. TLG has done an excellent job preparing them academically and socially for their next steps in school. We highly recommend The Learning Gardens to any family looking for a nurturing, engaging, and high-quality childcare program in the Madison area.

  • We sent our LO to The Learning Gardens for 1 year and loved everything about it. We only left b/c we were leaving Madison. The staff and teachers are great. Our LO was in the infant and young toddler rooms and he loved the teachers in both. During our 1 year there was little to no turnover which wasn’t the case at prior daycares. Learning Gardens had tons of outdoor space for the kids to run around and play. Or LO spent lots of time outside in the sand box, on the slide, and playing in the grass. They also have two indoor gyms- one for the little kids and one for bigger kids. They have an onsite Chef who makes breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The children eat a wide variety of foods. We often joked that our LO ate better than we did. The staff does a great job working with the children. Our LO has flourished during his time at TLG and we will miss it dearly. We highly recommend them to any and all.

  • We had a truly wonderful experience at The Learning Gardens and highly recommend it. Marsha, Trish, and the entire Wiggle Worms team provide exceptional, loving care and create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow. The caregivers are attentive, thoughtful, and clearly dedicated to building strong relationships with both the children and their families. Our daughter thrived during her time here, and we are so grateful for the care, patience, and kindness she received each day. We deeply appreciate everything this amazing team has done for our family and are incredibly thankful for the positive experience they provide.

  • The Learning Gardens has been so amazing. Words truly cannot express the gratitude and appreciation I have for them. The environment is very comforting, positive, and fun! My son has had some needed special accommodations and they’ve been wonderful in trying to make his experience as inclusive, yet individualized, for the best learning experience. The director has been more than amazing and even helping provide resources or alternatives to help with my son. All the staff are beyond amazing and a blessing. Always positive and smiling. My son is a picky eater and they have a chef that makes their meals and snacks. My son has willingly tried new things with his expertise. Wednesdays they have a special gym day to learn different sports. The program is structured for little ones to learn the basic skills and now my son can throw like a pro! I can’t say enough wonderful things about The Learning Gardens. I only hope everyone experiences the same or better!

  • We had our son enrolled at The Learning Gardens when he was 3 months old until around 14 months old. We switched daycares only because we moved further away and needed somewhere closer. During the year that our son was at The Learning Gardens, he had an absolutely great time. His teachers and all the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and took great care of him. The daycare itself is very safe and secure, with fingerprint scanners in order to access the classrooms. You also receive minute-by-minute updates on their app, which we loved since we got to see pictures everyday of our child. He was fed very well and their curriculum included music, lots of art, Spanish, and other social and emotional development. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our time here! Shoutout to all the wonderful teachers and staff.

  • Our twin girls spent over 3 years at the Learning Gardens. They have wonderful staff and create a community by hosting gatherings throughout the year with all the families offer ice cream, dinners, bounce houses, etc. Thanks to Chef Alex, they eat better meals than we do at home. Not to mention the fun events throughout the days like musician Casey and Jump Bunch. We will miss The Learning Gardens and can't thank them enough for caring for our girls. <3

Questions parents ask about THE LEARNING GARDENS

Is THE LEARNING GARDENS a licensed child care provider in Wisconsin?

THE LEARNING GARDENS holds Wisconsin licence 7000594387-001, listed as "LICENSED" by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in Dane County, licensed since 2026-04-01. Confirm current standing on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov before enrolling.

What is THE LEARNING GARDENS's YoungStar rating?

YoungStar rates THE LEARNING GARDENS 5 stars out of five. The rating covers staff education, the learning environment, business practices and child well-being, not inspection outcomes, and it is separate from the licence.

What are THE LEARNING GARDENS's hours?

The state directory lists 07:30 AM-05:30 PM, Jan-Dec, full time. Wisconsin records the daily window but not which days it applies to, and hours change without the licence record changing, so call ahead.

What ages does THE LEARNING GARDENS take?

The licence covers 6 weeks to 12 years 11 months. That is the span Wisconsin licenses the provider for, not a list of the rooms it runs, so ask which age groups it is actually staffing.

Does this page show inspection results for THE LEARNING GARDENS?

No. Wisconsin publishes licensing violations for each provider, and none of them are included here, so nothing on this page reflects THE LEARNING GARDENS's inspection history either way. Read the violation record on the state's provider search at childcarefinder.wisconsin.gov.
