My daughter attended this center when it was operated by KinderCare, and our experience was exceptional. Communication was consistent, the teachers were wonderful, and the curriculum kept the children engaged while supporting their development. Unfortunately, our experience changed significantly during the transition to Bright Horizons. Communication became minimal, management made little effort to address parent concerns, and the parent meeting meant to provide answers left us more confused. Even basic safety questions could not be answered, and promised follow-ups never happened. Another major concern was the lack of a clear, structured curriculum under Bright Horizons. From my perspective, the program felt more child-led than school-focused. That may work for some families, but for a Pre-K child preparing to transition into kindergarten, it did not feel structured enough. It felt more like a babysitting service than a school. I do want to recognize Tonya, who transferred from KinderCare. She was consistently professional, caring, and helpful. She was a bright spot during an otherwise disappointing experience. While the center was great under KinderCare, the Bright Horizons transition was extremely disappointing. I am very glad we left when we did.

Lindsey WrightFeb 15, 2024We love UVA CDC. It is perfect place for our daughter with amazing teachers and lots of fun everyday. They really support individual development of each child, focusing on strengths and helping to improve all skills. They are also very open-minded and like to discuss with parents all different things. The quality of care is exceptional!
