Fort Myers at a glance

About licensed daycares in Fort Myers

Fort Myers is the seat of Lee County and the historic core of Southwest Florida, on the Caloosahatchee River between the Gulf beaches and inland ranching country. The economy blends healthcare (Lee Health is one of the region's largest employers), tourism, construction, and agriculture, and post-Hurricane Ian rebuilding has drawn new construction and service-industry families into the metro.

Neighborhoods like McGregor, Downtown River District, Whiskey Creek, and the Gateway area east toward I-75 each frame different daily commutes. Child care options include established center-based programs near Lee Memorial and HealthPark, faith-based programs across the older grid, and family day care homes spread throughout the city, with a real focus on hurricane-preparedness plans that Southwest Florida families ask about.
